Aubuchon Company Raises $17,000 for Lend a Helping Can Campaign

A record-breaking $17,000 donation to Rock 101 and Greg & The Morning Buzz's Lend a Helping Can campaign was just announced! This initiative is dedicated to combating food insecurity across New England. The milestone highlights the Aubuchon Company’s steadfast commitment to supporting local communities and aiding those in need.

In an Instagram post Greg & The Morning Buzz commented, “Our friends at @aubuchonhardware came up with a big $17,000 donation to Lend a Helping Can through their “Round Up” program! Thank you so much to Aubuchon and all of their customers! You ROCK!” The $17,000 check is pictured to the left!

A Four-Year Partnership with a Growing Impact

The Aubuchon Company’s involvement with Lend a Helping Can began four years ago and has grown into a significant annual tradition. Dover, NH, Moultonborough, NH, Allenstown, NH, Alton, NH, Newmarket, NH, Ossipee, NH, Lee, NH, Meredith, NH, and Wells, ME all worked together in this year's Lend a Helping Can round up campaign. Customers were able to donate their change by rounding up their purchase to the next dollar. They could also choose to donate any dollar amount, regardless of their payment method. This year, through the dedication of their associates and the generosity of their customers, the company raised $16,642! True to the spirit of the campaign, the Aubuchon Company rounded up the total to $17,000! To further contribute to the initiative, a Weber charcoal grill valued at $250 was raffled off at the Dover, NH Aubuchon Hardware and a Traeger smoker valued at $1,000 was donated for an on air live auction!

Dwayne Ball, who led the company’s efforts, played a pivotal role in galvanizing the team’s enthusiasm and organizing events. Dwayne’s leadership has been instrumental in fostering a culture of giving. Aubuchon’s CEO, Will Aubuchon, said to Dwayne "If it wasn’t for your leadership, we would not be in a position to present this $17,000 check to Rock 101's Lend a Helping Can campaign today … Your servant leadership is certainly making a difference by serving others."

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

The Lend a Helping Can campaign supports 12 New England charitable organizations, including the New Hampshire Food Bank, Crossroads House, and Vermont Food Bank. By partnering with food banks, the funds raised have an amplified impact—each dollar provides two nutritious meals. This year’s efforts emphasized the idea of “neighbors helping neighbors,” underscoring the collective power of communities. "This is about neighbors helping neighbors and that's how we look at our customers, they're our neighbors; they're people that live in our communities doing business with us." said Dwayne Ball on air with Rock 101’s Greg & The Morning Buzz.

Aubuchon’s Commitment to Future Involvement

The success of this year's campaign has inspired future plans to expand participation to additional Aubuchon locations, including stores in Vermont. The company remains committed to extending its reach and impact in combating food insecurity.

Greg & The Morning Buzz hosts and campaign organizers expressed their gratitude for Aubuchon Hardware’s partnership, acknowledging the role of customers, associates, and leadership in achieving shared goals. During a recent radio segment, they highlighted the tangible difference made by the roundup program and the broader community effort.

A Story of Progression

While reflecting on the evolution of this initiative, Dwayne stated “This all started when I was managing the Wells, ME store in 2021. All of the stores were asked to select an organization for a donation from the Aubuchon Foundation; I selected Lend a Helping Can. The following year I was on the field team, so I asked our Allenstown, NH and Dover, NH stores to run the same round up campaign. In 2023 we onboarded Lee, NH, Moultonborough, NH and Alton, NH as well! Then this year we added four more locations, Meredith, NH, Newmarket, NH, Wells, ME and Ossipee, NH! It continues to grow—I have already set the goal for 2025: Onboard more stores and reach $25,000!”

A Legacy of Giving

This partnership and its impact have left a lasting impression on both the beneficiaries and those involved in the effort. The funds raised will provide thousands of meals, while the stories of gratitude and community support continue to inspire.

As the holiday season approaches, the Aubuchon Community’s contributions to Lend a Helping Can exemplify the impact of its neighbors and strengthen its communities. Together, we can create meaningful change, one small act of generosity at a time.
